Hoelscher’s opened its doors in 1949 by founder A.T. “Pappy” Hoelscher as Hoelscher’s Tractor & Implement Co. It was at that time that Pappy sold Farmall tractors, manufactured by the International Harvester Co. A design flaw in one of the new tractors caused Pappy to change his businesses course to furniture and appliances in 1963. A second Hoelscher’s location was opened in Pleasanton in 1978 and at the time both stores continued to specialize in furniture and appliances. In 1995, Hoelscher’s Fine Furniture and Appliances opened a Radio Shack within its Floresville location. Even though Radio Shack has gone through tough times, we continue to sell Radio Shack items and electronics. It was at that time that Hoelscher’s rebranded to Hoelscher’s Fine Furniture, Appliances, and Electronics.
